Alchemy Restaurant was designed and built by artist and sculptor Todd Williams, who not only sculpted the stainless steel tree in the center of the restaurant, but also hand crafted the unique curved bar and frequently talk about bathroom sink. The restaurant was built with an organic design element in mind. The curvature of the bar leading into the smooth lines of the well built wine room gives just a little insight into the thought process behind the mind of the designer.
This same organic nature is what Alchemy strives for in its attempt to give local artists a venue for showcasing their art. Changing the art frequently allows our guests to see how each artist can dramatically change the feeling of the restaurant. Alchemy has a rotating art show for a six week time period, culminating in an end of show reception. We have had the pleasure of showcasing some of the most talented local artists in San Diego, and hope to promote local art and design through their many talents.
